Assistant/Associate Professor/Professor in Public Health / Healthcare Management

About the Role

Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University (HBMSU) seeks a full-time faculty member in Public Health or Healthcare Management at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. The successful candidate will join the School of Health Sciences and contribute to advancing teaching, research, and innovation in healthcare management, with a focus on public health, health economics, health systems performance, and data-driven decision-making. HBMSU is globally recognized for its leadership in smart learning and digital education, offering a dynamic environment that fosters innovation, flexibility, and learner-centered approaches. The position involves teaching online courses, developing curricula, conducting research, mentoring learners, and supporting professional development initiatives aligned with the university’s mission and the UAE’s digital health agenda.

Key Responsibilities

• check_circle Deliver online courses in public health and healthcare management, including subjects such as health economics, operations management, health quality, and health systems performance.
• check_circle Design and develop instructional materials and e-content that integrate industry best practices and emerging technologies in healthcare management.
• check_circle Conduct and publish high-quality research in peer-reviewed journals, develop research proposals, secure funding, and supervise capstone and research projects.
• check_circle Provide academic mentorship and guidance to learners, supporting their academic and professional growth.
• check_circle Develop and deliver professional short courses and workshops tailored to specific professional communities and target groups.
• check_circle Contribute to program accreditation processes and fulfill institutional service requirements within the School of Health Sciences.

Qualifications

• check_circle PhD in Public Health or Healthcare Management from an accredited university, preferably a top-ranked institution.
• check_circle Demonstrated expertise in healthcare management and its practical applications.
• check_circle Proven ability to teach healthcare management courses at undergraduate and graduate levels, with experience in online learning environments.
• check_circle Experience in health data analytics, artificial intelligence in healthcare, electronic health records, health information systems, interoperability, and data governance.
• check_circle Strong record of teaching excellence and research publications in accredited academic institutions.
• check_circle Ability to integrate industry practice and digital innovation into teaching and curriculum design.
• check_circle Experience developing and delivering professional workshops and supervising learner theses and research projects.
• check_circle For Associate Professor or Professor rank: minimum of five years of academic experience, a robust research profile, and evidence of holding the same academic rank at the time of application or at the last employing institution.
