About the Role

Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University (HBMSU), the first accredited smart learning university in the region, seeks exceptional scholars for a non-resident full-time faculty position in Sustainability and Green Economy. The successful candidate will join a dynamic, learner-centric institution committed to excellence in smart learning and innovative online education. This role involves teaching undergraduate and graduate courses entirely online, developing engaging digital course content, conducting impactful research, and contributing to academic service and student mentorship. Faculty members will participate remotely in university activities, including meetings, committees, and professional development sessions, while maintaining active involvement in HBMSU’s academic community. The position offers an opportunity to shape the future of digital learning and sustainability education through technology-driven teaching and research.

Key Responsibilities

• check_circle Deliver high-quality online courses in sustainability management, sustainability transitions, sustainability innovation, green economy, circular economy, and sustainability reporting using advanced digital platforms.
• check_circle Conduct and publish research in areas such as climate change mitigation, sustainable finance, ESG, and green technologies, while pursuing research funding opportunities.
• check_circle Design and develop innovative curricula and e-learning materials that integrate industry best practices and emerging technologies such as AI and machine learning.
• check_circle Mentor and advise students throughout their academic programs, fostering their professional and research development.
• check_circle Develop and facilitate professional short courses and workshops for targeted audiences and professional communities.
• check_circle Contribute to academic service, including program accreditation, visibility studies, business analytics, and benchmarking analyses.
• check_circle Actively participate in virtual faculty meetings, committees, and university events to support HBMSU’s mission and collaborative academic environment.

Qualifications

• check_circle PhD in Sustainability or a closely related field from an accredited university, preferably ranked among the top 200 globally.
• check_circle Expertise in sustainability analytics, sustainability management, sustainability transitions, sustainability innovation, green economy, and circular economy.
• check_circle Proficiency in sustainability reporting frameworks (GRI, IFRS S1/S2, TCFD, SASB) and carbon management standards (GHG Protocol, ISO 14064).
• check_circle Demonstrated ability to teach and engage learners effectively in online undergraduate and graduate programs.
• check_circle Proven record of scholarly research and publication in peer-reviewed journals.
• check_circle Experience in developing and delivering online courses and professional workshops.
• check_circle Strong command of English with the ability to teach and publish effectively.
