Instructional Designer
About the Role
The Instructional Designer is responsible for developing effective and measurable learning experiences that align with academic standards, accreditation requirements, and intended learning outcomes. This role involves analyzing learning needs, designing course structures, developing assessments, and ensuring instructional rigor and quality. The Instructional Designer collaborates with subject matter experts, faculty, and content developers to create engaging, data-driven, and accessible learning materials that support diverse learner profiles and performance goals.
Key Responsibilities
- check_circle Analyze learning needs, learner profiles, and performance gaps to inform instructional design strategies
- check_circle Design course structures, learning pathways, and instructional blueprints aligned with learning objectives
- check_circle Develop and align learning outcomes mapped to Bloom’s Taxonomy or equivalent frameworks
- check_circle Create formative and summative assessments, rubrics, and evaluation criteria to measure learning effectiveness
- check_circle Translate subject-matter expertise into structured, coherent, and engaging instructional content
- check_circle Ensure compliance with accreditation frameworks and quality standards in all learning materials
- check_circle Collaborate with subject matter experts, faculty members, and content developers throughout the design process
- check_circle Review and quality-assure learning materials for clarity, coherence, and instructional integrity
- check_circle Support adaptive and data-driven learning models to enhance learner engagement and outcomes
Qualifications
- check_circle Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Learning Sciences, or a related field
- check_circle 4–7 years of experience in instructional design within higher education, corporate learning, or online learning environments
- check_circle Strong understanding of learning theories and design models such as Backward Design, ADDIE, and Constructivism
- check_circle Proven experience in assessment design and learning outcome mapping
- check_circle Proficiency with Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Moodle and Blackboard
- check_circle Experience with authoring tools including Articulate Storyline, Rise, and Adobe Captivate
- check_circle Familiarity with video editing, text-to-audio/video, and text-to-image AI tools
- check_circle Knowledge of learning analytics, assessment and rubric design tools, and accessibility standards
- check_circle Experience with micro-credentials, stackable learning modules, and adaptive learning systems
- check_circle Strong collaboration, communication, and quality assurance skills with attention to instructional integrity
