Assistant/Associate Professor in Accounting

About the Role

Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University (HBMSU) seeks a full-time Assistant or Associate Professor in Accounting to join its innovative academic community in Dubai, UAE. The successful candidate will contribute to the university’s mission of delivering learner-centered, high-quality smart education through teaching, research, and service. This role involves developing and delivering engaging courses using advanced online learning technologies, mentoring students, conducting impactful research, and supporting the continuous improvement and accreditation of academic programs. The position requires presence on campus during working hours and active participation in the university’s academic and professional development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• check_circle Deliver high-quality undergraduate and graduate courses in Accounting using advanced online learning platforms and innovative teaching methods.
• check_circle Design and develop instructional materials and e-content aligned with the Accounting curriculum.
• check_circle Provide academic guidance, advising, and mentorship to students throughout their studies.
• check_circle Develop and facilitate professional short courses and workshops for targeted professional communities.
• check_circle Conduct and publish research in peer-reviewed journals, and pursue funding opportunities for research projects in Accounting or related fields.
• check_circle Contribute to academic program development, accreditation processes, and other service activities within the university.

Qualifications

• check_circle Ph.D. in Accounting from an AACSB-accredited university.
• check_circle Demonstrated teaching experience at undergraduate and graduate levels within an AACSB-accredited institution.
• check_circle Experience with online and e-learning environments and the ability to integrate technology into teaching.
• check_circle Strong research record with publications in high-quality, peer-reviewed journals.
• check_circle Ability to incorporate industry insights into curriculum design and instruction.
• check_circle Proven experience in developing and delivering professional workshops and short courses.
• check_circle Professional certification in Accounting is considered an advantage.
• check_circle For Associate Professor rank: minimum of 5 years of academic experience and evidence of holding the same title or equivalent at the previous institution.
