Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University (HBMSU), located in Dubai, UAE, the first accredited smart/online learning university in the region, is seeking exceptional scholars who are passionate about advancing innovative online education. Successful candidates will join a dynamic, learner-centric institution dedicated to excellence in smart learning. Faculty are expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in a fully online environment, contribute to the development of engaging digital course content, and maintain an active record of research and scholarly contributions in their specific field. The ideal candidates will demonstrate a commitment to high-quality publications, innovative online pedagogy, and meaningful service to the academic community. Applicants must be familiar with online teaching platforms and methodologies and be dedicated to supporting HBMSU’s mission of transforming learning through technology and innovation. Candidates who have not yet completed their terminal degree must provide clear evidence of expected completion prior to the start date. At HBMSU, we are seeking dynamic faculty members who will thrive in a blended academic environment. Successful candidates will reside in the UAE and be physically present on our campus, engaging actively with learners and colleagues. While teaching will be delivered fully online—whether asynchronous or synchronous—faculty are expected to participate in on-campus meetings, events, and face-to-face interactions when required. Beyond teaching, faculty will contribute to impactful research aligned with AACSB requirements and School thought leadership criteria, publish in reputable journals, mentor students, and provide academic service while maintaining a strong on-campus presence. In addition, they will take part in university life by joining committees, supporting community initiatives, and participating regularly in campus events, ensuring they are an integral part of our vibrant academic community.

Key Responsibilities

• check_circle Deliver advanced undergraduate and graduate courses on topics such as Quality 4.0, research methods, service excellence, and strategy using HBMSU’s interactive smart learning platforms.
• check_circle Design and update course materials to incorporate emerging trends such as digital transformation and the experience economy.
• check_circle Conduct and publish high-quality research in peer-reviewed journals, applying multidisciplinary approaches to address modern quality management challenges.
• check_circle Pursue research funding opportunities and contribute to the university’s research profile.
• check_circle Supervise Ph.D. dissertations and mentor students in research methodologies and ethical practices.
• check_circle Develop and deliver professional workshops and seminars in quality management and related fields.
• check_circle Contribute to program accreditation, academic governance, and outreach activities to enhance program visibility.
• check_circle Participate actively in university committees, community initiatives, and campus events to support institutional development.

Qualifications

• check_circle Ph.D. in a relevant field such as Quality Management, Service Excellence, Strategy, or a related discipline from an AACSB-accredited university (ABD candidates near completion will be considered).
• check_circle Strong scholarly preparation with the ability to teach and publish effectively in English.
• check_circle Demonstrated record of research or clear evidence of research potential, including working papers aimed at top-tier journals.
• check_circle Familiarity with online teaching platforms, digital pedagogy, and learner engagement in virtual environments.
